Can I make a DVD or CD from my Her Interactive downloads?

You may copy a purchased game or guide in its original downloaded format to a CD or DVD for backup storage. However, when you need to re-install the game or guide, be sure to copy the files to your hard-drive.

What if my computer crashes and I lose a Her Interactive game or guide?

Your purchase stays in our records and on your accounts page, so you can download your game or guide anytime in the event that you need to re-install your purchase.

Please note: We recommend that you backup your purchased Her Interactive products after download. You will need to install or run the file again on the computer to reactivate your any personal licenses.

If you ever have any trouble activating your license or downloading your video again, our customer support team is always here to help you out.

Can I return a Her Interactive game or guide after I purchase it?

No. Her Interactive digital products are not returnable once purchased. If you experience technical problems installing a game or viewing a guide, we are happy to help you troubleshoot the problem. Please visit the Support Center and submit a support ticket.

Do I need to order/download from the computer I use to play the game or view my guide?

You can purchase your items on any computer and download the unopened file. When you open your download is when it is crucial you open it on the computer on which you wish to save/view it. Your personal license will be activated for that specific computer and cannot be transferred.

How big is a Her Interactive game file?

Each file offered varies in size depending on the content within the file. Some files maybe only a few MB while other games maybe a few Gigs.

Can I download more than one Her Interactive game or guide at a time?

Yes. Using our industry standard download manager you can download multiple files at a time.

Will my download be saved if I lose connection or lose power?

Yes. Our download manager will save your file and remember the last position your download stopped at. Simply restart the download manager and the file will resume at it's last position.

Can I download a game with out the download manager?

Yes. Once you have completed your purchase and are clicking on the download button for your game, the download window will state that there is an error installing the download controller. Further down in this window there is a manual link that you can click on to manually download your file. The download will use the default download manager for your current installed browser.

What program do I need to use to download my guide purchase?

You will need to have Adobe Reader 7 installed in order to view your guide purchase. Currently the Digital Editions BETA for Adobe Reader 8 is not supported.

My download isn't working properly. What do I need to do to fix it?

In case your download isn't working or you have some issues downloading, here are some tips to help you.

  1. Turn off all other internet applications. Leave your connection available for your download only. Some lesser quality connections will benefit from this. Depending on your connection speed and your computer's hardware, multitasking while downloading may not be a good idea.
  2. Update your Windows operating system using Windows Update to make sure your Windows Operating system has the latest in security updates and drivers. DirectX and Internet Explorer are 2 of the most important to keep up to date.
  3. Update your hardware drivers as recommended at your hardware manufacturer's website. Even modems and network cards have updated drivers that may actually improve the quality of your internet experience by performing more efficiently.
  4. Try only one download at a time. Your connection does not give the same speed to all downloads. If you have a 1 MB connection, it will split it between downloads not give 1 meg to each file and don't forget, anything else you do while downloading steals it away from your download too.

I have a firewall. What ports do I need opened in order to use the download manager?

If you have a firewall that does not auto configure the download manager when you installed it and need to manually open the required ports;

Download manager ports:

TCP inbound and outbound - port 28900
UDP inbound and outbound - port 28900

If you are not sure how to manually configure your firewall you will need to consult the FAQ or support for your installed firewall program.

Our support staff unfortunately does not have the knowledge base to assist users with the huge variety of firewalls or proxies nor to take the responsibility in assisting you to open the security of your computer.

Does my game require certain ports to be opened?

While most firewalls can auto-configure the required ports you may need to manually open them for your specific game.

I need my game or guide's license re-activated. Where do I need to go for that?

I was just sent an email that I purchased a game (or guide), but I had already done that previously. Was I just charged again?

No. Anytime you access your download and re-download a file or guide, our system automatically re-sends the purchase receipt to your email address. You have not been charged again for a purchase you have previously already purchased.

I am experiencing some issues that is not listed in this FAQ. Where can I get support?
